| Beyond a First Data Submission As described on Help page 4 of 5, Authorized Users use the Reporting Year selector to access their current data submission to the NEWMDB or to access information from a previous submission. For previous submissions, the database itself is not accessed - Users only access reports. Therefore, when you select the Reporting Year for a previous submission, your browser will be re-directed to the Reports for this submission. Note: this approach was taken because changes to the database's structure (e.g. NEWMDB to NEWMDB-II) would require multiple user interfaces to access legacy data in the database. In preparation for a new data submission, if a Member State had not made a previous submission, a blank submission is created (except for information for the Country Co-ordinator role). For these first time submissions, Authorized Users make a submission as described throughout the On Line Help pages. If a Member State had made a previous submission, all data from the previous submission are copied over into the data fields for the current submission. In other words, all data from the previous submission are copied into the "record" for the current submission. To facilitate the preparation of submissions based on data from previous submissions, an "EASY UPDATE" mode was implemented in NEWMDB version 2.1. CLICK HERE for details. Please Note: When a submission is based upon a previous submission (that is, an update is prepared), please remember that updates are cumulative. By way of example, suppose a Country Co-ordinator reported in a previous submission that Facility X had 1000 m3 of waste. Between the previous and current submission, suppose that an additional 100 m3 of waste were added to the facility. For the new submission, the Country Co-ordinator would report that Facility X contains 1100 m3 of waste (cumulative total), he/she would not report 100 m3, the incremental difference. Please contact the NEWMDB Programme Officer if you have any questions about making a submission to the NEWMDB. |
